Is It Any Good?

A hipster joint near Wilshire.

Luna Park on Urbanspoon
Luna Park Restaurant on Foodio54

Luna Park is one of those Los Angeles hipster-trendoid places that I enjoyed despite myself. The Luna Park Website describes itself as:

The menu, mostly French and Italian with a few American and Asian accents.

Hmm.  I always saw it as an American joint.

In any case, it’s got a really nice kitchen, so the food is interesting and fun (and American, if you haven’t been able to tell by the tag).

WHAT SHOULD I GET?: Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. Looking at the menu now, the Grilled Marinated Flat Iron Steak Topped with Salsa Verde and Served with French Fries looks promising. As does the Ale Marinated Chicken with Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Butternut Squash and Sage Jus. But I’m definitely starting with the Crispy Pork Belly with Quince-Riesling Puree, Satsuma, and Pomegranate as an appetizer.

Making me want to go back now.

PARKING: There’s a lot just across the street from the Restaurant. Trick is it’s behind the Blockbuster and Metro Customer Service on the corner of S. La Brea and Wilshire. When I was first here, it was a public lot. It’s status may have changed, and you should be aware.
