Is It Any Good?

The former Belle of the Beverly Hills Shopping Ball…

Back in my day, the Beverly Center was second only to Rodeo Drive as far as shopping destinations went in Los Angeles.

Times have changed. It’s the oldest story in Hollywood, the Belle of the Ball finds herself replaced by the younger newer model, in this case, the Grove.

Why settle for the Beverly Center’s Food Court when you’ve got the frickin’ Farmer’s Market to choose from? Why settle for the Beverly Center’s rather meager, barely living room sized Multiplex, when you can sit in state of the art comfort at the Grove’s Multiplex?

Still, the Beverly Center is hanging in there. It’s not like it’s about to go broke anytime soon, and the shops are still keeping in that Beverly Hills fabulousness…I guess. Wasn’t that much into Beverly Hills fabulousness to begin with.

But if you want to shop like you’re on Rodeo Drive, and for some reason a lot of you do, this is one of the places to go. If nothing else, it’ll get you out of the heat.

PARKING: The Beverly Center is an architectural oddity. It basically rests atop its own five-level Parking Structure. The level of organization is okay. As long as its not too crowded you can get in and out of there with a minimum of fuss. It’ll cost you a little bit, but nothing too terrible.
