Party like a Sultan right on Sunset Blvd.
Just so we’re clear here, you’re not coming here for the Moroccan Food. If it’s a quiet meal you want, there are better places. Heck, come down to Glendale. We’ll treat you right. That’s not to say Dar Marghreb’s has bad fare, not at all. Stuff’s quite good. You’re going to have a good time…
…but let’s not forget you’re really here to have a good time, over a good meal (which is what they’re selling). You’re here to be treated like a Sultan, and they will do that for you, complete with the pulled Tea, Belly Dancers, food coming at you on gold plates. Short of any Gyu-Kaku location, or the Santa Monica location of El Cholo, you won’t find a better party Restaurant in L.A.
And speaking of parties. Dar Marghreb also has its place in Hollywood History/infamy as being near the spot where Hugh Grant was picked up for Lewd Conduct in a Public Place.
WHAT SHOULD I GET?: What? You’re going to be eating, and not watching the belly dancers? Are you kidding me? What did I just say?
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP, PEOPLE: We may be talking about this place like its simply a “Middle Eastern” place, but it really serves Morrocan cuisine, which is its own distinct thing, more than a little different than what you’ll find in Glendale, which is primarily Persian and Lebanese. The Dar Marghreb Menu is divided up into three choices, which then arrives at you in waves…on gold plates.
PARKING: You’re not going to find anything on Sunset. This is a circumstance where you should just bite the bullet and go Valet. Trust me, save yourself the stress.
