A Burbank Bar and Grill that serves up some pretty good Cajun food.
Okay, the story is this. I once had a fondness for this place, mostly because I had a fondness for a girl who was working there. And, well…let’s just say I haven’t been back for a while.
Michael’s itself is damn good. It’s a neighborhood joint. It caters to the locals, and the folks who work at NBC, Warner’s and Disney. It’s got a New Orleans menu, and that’s what drew me in.
But, no. Won’t catch me going back there. No, sir.
WHAT SHOULD I GET?: Roll New Orleans here. Go with the Gumbos, or the blackened anything. They have veggie varieties if that’s how you roll, or if you have a seafood allergy, like me. Most importantly, have their Beignets. They are the best in town, and are the one thing about the place I miss.
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP, PEOPLE: Whatever you do, by God, do not—what am I saying? I’ve told you enough about my love life as it is.
PARKING: Pretty good. Michael’s has its own lot, which it shares with a local Dentist’s Office. After 6pm, the Dentist’s spaces open up, but that’s usually when the neighborhood folk come crashing it. Expect that lot to fill up. Failing that, there’s always street parking on Olive.
