An east-coast style Pizza joint in Eagle Rock.
Casa Bianca is the kind of neighborhood joint that attracts a loyal, cult-like following from far and wide, even though the occasional outsider doesn’t see what the big deal is. Basically, the joint opens at 4pm. No lunch crush. They’re up making dough, and at 4pm the open their doors. By 5pm, they’ve got a line out the door. When they run out of dough, that’s it, they’ve run out of pizza.
Now, as a native East-Coaster, as someone who lived in New York for two years, you’re used to places like this. They’re a part of your birthright. Casa Bianca makes handmade, hand-crafted Pizza pies. There’s nothing artisanal about the ingredients, nothing fancy. Just a basic Pepperoni Pie, but made with care and love.
The line should tell you all you need to know about Casa Bianca. It’s really that good. It’s absolutely the worth the wait to get in and out of that place. It is an East Coast style Pizza place, and the Pizza holds up. It’s very unique…to California. For the East Coaster, it’s good, just not a revelation. Good pizza, yes. But worth the wait, or the cult-like slavish devotion to? Ehhhh…
WHAT SHOULD I GET?: Uhh…duh. Any one of the pizzas will do you right.
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP, PEOPLE: Here’s on odd thing. Be mindful of the hours. Mondays and Sundays, they’re closed.
Casa Bianca doesn’t deliver, so no matter what happens, whether you sit in, or a come in to pick up, you gotta go in, you gotta fight that line, and you gotta find a place to park.
Speaking of which…
PARKING: Yeah, like with Lemongrass or Halong Bay, or any place along Colorado Blvd. in Eagle Rock, you’re parking on Colorado. That may require a bit of luck. You can also try around the corner on Townsend.
