A sampling of the Mexican good stuff in Glendale (and Beverly Hills)…
This is kind of a high-end Mexican place that you normally see in someplace like La Serenata or Hugo’s way out in Houston, Texas. They serve the usual Tex-Mex selections, so for those of you into that sort of thing (and want to pay a bit more than you would at El Torito) you’re in luck. But Frida’s does wander into the world of Ceviche (a seafood plate cooked with lime and/or lemon juice where the citric acid of the fruit does the cooking) and Mole (spicy Mexican chocolate sauce).
If you want to get a look at what Ceviche really looks like (and have your mouth water in the process), take a look at this bit of No Reservations from Colombia:
I’ve only been to the Glendale location, which is in the Americana Center, and had a nice time. I’ve heard that the original Beverly Hills Location is better. But if you really want to see how its really done, go to La Serenata.
WHAT SHOULD I HAVE?: I had the Pozole, which is a Chile broth with blanched corn kernels and shredded chicken cooked inside. Very nice. All I can say is, if you come here, and all you wind up getting are either Tacos or Burrito’s, you’ve failed.

PARKING: Very easy, since its the Americana Center. Just park in their central structure and follow the directory to Frida’s. If you want to save the four or five bucks and are willing to huff it, you can park over in the Glendale Galleria for free.
