Is It Any Good?

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)’s Friday night Jazz Concerts continue tomorrow night featuring the Jon Mayer Trio with Jackie Ryan.

For the record, we’re talking about this Jon Mayer, not this John Mayer.

From the LACMA website:

Pianist and recording artist Jon Mayer began his career with the Thad Jones–Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra, Sarah Vaughan, and Dionne Warwick. As a leader, he has been joined by such legendary artists as Ron Carter, Ernie Watts, and Billy Higgins, and his live and studio recordings are staples on jazz stations across the country. “Mayer proved himself to be a musician of considerable technical abilities with a mature, engaging improvisational sense and an extreme sensitivity to the music going on around him.” —Los AngelesTimes

Jazz at LACMA starts every Friday night at 6pm in the BP Grand Pavilion. Tickets are free, and don’t require any reservations. Parking is available underneath LACMA or across the street (and that might cost you a little bit).

Food options, including Tacos, Sangria and Beer will be on sale. Ray and Stark Bar will be open as well, as well as the many food trucks along Wilshire Avenue. You can also bring your own picnic, as well as your own chair or blankets.
