Is It Any Good?

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)’s Friday night Jazz Concerts continue tomorrow night featuring the Billy Childs Quartet.

From the LACMA website:

Multiple Grammy Award–winning pianist and composer Billy Childs returns to LACMA with his new quartet. Childs, who began his career as pianist for Freddie Hubbard and J.J. Johnson, has worked with such notables as Yo-Yo Ma, Sting, the Kronos Quartet, Jack DeJohnette, Ron Carter, and the Ying String Quartet. His compositions have been performed by Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Leonard Slatkin, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.

Jazz at LACMA starts every Friday night at 6pm in the BP Grand Pavilion. Tickets are free, and don’t require any reservations. Parking is available underneath LACMA or across the street (and that might cost you a little bit).

Food options, including Tacos, Sangria and Beer will be on sale. Ray and Stark Bar will be open as well, as well as the many food trucks along Wilshire Avenue. You can also bring your own picnic, as well as your own chair or blankets.
