I know it’s odd that I recommend you come to LACMA and…you know…look at the floor, but…
The 2000 Sculpture is being closed up today, April 1, 2013. While the 2000 Sculpture wasn’t an L.A. Landmark, it was a pretty cool sight to see.
I know…from the way it looks, it’s just a bunch of stuff thrown on the ground…
…but it’s a bunch of stuff thrown on the ground very, very precisely. Looking at it from different angles is almost hypnotic.
I know there’s limited space in LACMA, and so it may have been a little much to have it stay permanently, but along with Levitated Mass, this was one of the more deceptively simple, yet engaging things to watch at the Museum.
2000 Sculpture, you will be missed.
