I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you.

I thought this place would be closed by now.

Not for the quality of the food, which is pretty good all things considered.

No, it’s the place itself.  Grub…the restaurant…is near…nothing as far as I can tell.

It’s sorta kinda near the Larchmont neighborhood. It’s a short drive from the Arclight Hollywood.

The food itself itself is…decent. That’s not fair. It’s pretty good, especially for a pair of Top Chef contestants.

Still, there’s another thing that bothered me.

First time I visited…I came by like an hour before it was scheduled to close, and it was closed. No reason given. No indication as to anything being wrong. Just closed.

I finally went back the following week, with the same young lady I was that first…odd visit. We had a good time. Unfortunately, that was the last time I went out with that particular young lady.

That’s hardly Grub’s fault, though.

Ah, memories.

WHAT SHOULD I GET?: Well, now that it’s still here. You should probably try the “Crack” Bacon Quesadilla with Apples. Which was pretty good. Not as explosive a flavor as I was hoping, but still pretty good. We also tried their famous Mac & Cheese, which again was good, not holy @#$% great.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP, PEOPLE: Yeah, I remain wary of the hours, given my experience with them.

PARKING: Meh. We’re talking all street parking. This isn’t a place that’s going to have Valet Service, or its own Parking Structure. That would kinda defeat the purpose. Instead, you’re going to have to depend on Street Parking, which is fine…because it’s all free…but it also can be hard to find. First…well…second time I went, we wound up parking on Santa Monica, and hoofing it (all of two blocks) the rest of the way).
