Is It Any Good?

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)’s Friday night Jazz Concerts continue tomorrow night, October 10th, featuring Erskine-Pasqua-Oles Trio.

From the LACMA website:

The Erskine-Pasqua-Oles Trio features three Los Angeles–based musicians. Drummer Peter Erskine began his career with the Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson Big Bands, before his historic work with such bands as Weather Report, Steps Ahead, Steely Dan, and Diana Krall. Pianist Alan Pasqua’s notable collaborations include his tours and recordings with the New Tony Williams Lifetime with Allan Holdsworth, Bob Dylan, Santana, and Aretha Franklin. Bassist Darek Oles was a student of legendary bassist Charlie Haden and has gone on to work with some of the greatest masters in jazz, including Brad Mehldau, Billy Higgins, Pat Metheny, Joe Lovano, Eddie Henderson, and John Abercrombie.

Jazz at LACMA starts every Friday night at 6pm at the Los Angeles Times Central Court. Tickets are free, no reservations required, but the earlier you show up the better. Parking is available underneath LACMA or across the street (and that might cost you a little bit).

Food options, as well as Sangria, Beer and other adult beverages (and non-adult beverages) will be on sale. Ray and Stark Bar will be open as well.  LACMA has started to ask that we not bring outside alcohol, or glass bottles to the event.  The food trucks along Wilshire Avenue will be there until an hour or two before showtime. You can also bring your own picnic, as well as your own chair or blankets.
