The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)’s Friday night Jazz Concerts continue tomorrow night, August 29th, 2014, featuring Janis Mann.
From the LACMA website:
“A first-class jazz singer!” proclaims jazz critic and author Scott Yanow. Janis Mann is an artist who is both a striking song stylist and a fearless improviser. Her first album, A Little Moonlight, was hailed by coproducer Diane Schuur as “a heartfelt and tasty interpretation of well-loved standard.”
Jazz at LACMA starts every Friday night at 6pm in the BP Grand Pavilion. Tickets are free, no reservations required, but the earlier you show up the better. Parking is available underneath LACMA or across the street (and that might cost you a little bit).
Food options, as well as Sangria, Beer and other adult beverages (and non-adult beverages) will be on sale. Ray and Stark Bar will be open as well. LACMA has started to ask that we not bring outside alcohol, or glass bottles to the event. The food trucks along Wilshire Avenue will be there until an hour or two before showtime. You can also bring your own picnic, as well as your own chair or blankets.
