Yeah, starting on January 16th through the 19th…at the L.A. Convention Center. ┬áSounds like the same time and place as the L.A. Art Show this year.

Here is Mary Forgione’s short piece from the L.A. Times:

Beware of the jaguar, a 9-foot ancient sculpture associated with war and sacrifice in Maya culture. It’s the centerpiece of “Treasures of the Maya Spirit,” an exhibition coming to Los Angeles Jan. 16-19. It includes 200 sculptures, stonework and ceramics from the ancient Maya civilization. The works belong to La Ruta Maya Foundation and are slated to be housed in the future Museo Maya de America in Guatemala City, which is scheduled to break ground in 2016. “Since the largest population of Guatemalans living outside of the country resides in Los Angeles, it makes sense for this exceptional exhibition to debut here,” foundation President Fernando Paiz said in a statement. The exhibition is part of the Los Angeles Jewelry, Antique & Design Show at the L.A. Convention Center South Hall.

Mary’s piece also has photos. Click here to check them out.
