The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)’s Friday night Jazz Concerts continue tonight, featuring The Phil Norman Tentet.
From the LACMA website:
For over 15 years, the Phil Norman Tentet picks up where the Birth of the Cool bands left off. The group explores new ideas through arrangers and composers Bob Florence, Dave Pell, Alan Broadbent, Roger Neumann, and Kim Richmond, among others. Their recordings are a staple of the Jazz Times’ top 50 and feature some of our city’s finest jazz soloists.
Jazz at LACMA starts every Friday night at 6pm in the BP Grand Pavilion. Tickets are free, no reservations required, but the earlier you show up the better. Parking is available underneath LACMA or across the street (and that might cost you a little bit).
Food options, as well as Sangria, Beer and other adult beverages (and non-adult beverages) will be on sale. Ray and Stark Bar will be open as well. LACMA has started to ask that we not bring outside alcohol, or glass bottles to the event. The food trucks along Wilshire Avenue will be there until an hour or two before showtime. You can also bring your own picnic, as well as your own chair or blankets.
