I initially had a problem with the 1TB Hitachi drives I chose to use with this unit, but after a firmware upgrade it worked like a charm. That was quite a shock!

This has given me not problems so far.

This has worked with the 2 1TB I threw into it really well (after the initial firmware upgrade) and has just worked.

No problems at all. I've just kept it on and it hasn't reset itself at inopportune times or under-performed.

Network transfers are quite speedy. The Windows XP network monitor says 50-60% network utilisation when I am transferring files. Seems very good to me. About 50+MB/Sec

My only gripe was that there doesn't seem to be a way to enforce quotas on directories, or create shares which are partitions. Not too bad.

Linux on the inside as far as I understand.

What's good: Solid operation and construction.
What's bad: No directory-based quotas
Is it any good? Verdict: y
